Over millennia, Andean snowfields have compacted into ice and flowed eastward into Lago Argentino. A visit of the world famous Glacier National Park seemed an appropriate venue for me on this special day...
The centerpiece of the park is the dynamic Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the earth's most active icefields. This is the first glance we had of it from a distance.
Small chunks of ice floating on the lake proved that we got closer
And closer...
And closer...
Mighty Moreno - a sight I will never forget
Again I apologize for taking so many pictures of the same motif but I just loved it
To fully realise the size of Perito Moreno, check this picture and you can see the tiny small figures in front of the trees - those are the tourists watching the glacier
